Uncle Brando

Cora, your uncle Brandon came to visit you and your new brother this winter. He loves you so much and you definitely love him back. :) It's because of Brando that you love your favorite band, Haim. You will literally sit in the front room by yourself and groove to Haim. It's the cutest thing.

We couldn't dream of a visit from Brandon without a trip to vintage vinyl on the delmar loop.

We love you Brando! Thank you for visiting us!

Oliver James 1 & 2 months

Hard to believe the first couple months have come and gone. You are one month here and just as itty as can be. I remember when Coco wore that onesie. :) Oliver, you are such a sweet little boy with what I know will be such a beautiful heart. Right now you love to cuddle with me on your side with your hands close to your chin, just snuggling through the night. Your gentle wakings tell me it's time to nurse and you make he sweetest little sounds of contentment.

You love love love to be on your tummy. Not always but you often hate it on your back. Cora was the opposite. You will sleep short periods in the swing every now and again but you'll sleep for hours if your on your tummy so mama has to keep checking on you, but I don't mind.

Your big sister just adores you and will hold you with the gentlest care. She will softly pat your head and your back when your fussy and will kiss you whenever she gets the chance. And you are surprisingly calm when she is near! It's winter time and the house is always a little on the chilly side. She is always bringing the blanket from the swing over to cover you with, even if you already have one :)

Here you are 2 months and you've actually doubled your weight. Your doctor says babies don't typically do that until 4 months! You're so healthy and strong and you seem to be so much more calm now that you are a month older. You smell so sweet. I could live in that little chin and neck of yours.

I love you so much Oliver James. I can't wait to see you grow and change and learn and play. You are sleeping on my chest right now as I type this. You're softly snoring and your hair smells so sweet. I can't wait to see you grow but its moments like these that I'll treasure forever.

Happy first two months Ollie!

Holidays 2014

This past christmas in 2014 was amazing. We were blessed with a healthy baby boy who is now 2 months and has already doubled his weight! My mother flew in from Salt Lake City to spend two whole weeks with us and we couldn't have been more thrilled about that. We had such a great time together and I of course miss her like crazy. We spent Christmas with family here in St. Louis. Our dear friends, my mother, and my in laws. We also got to see uncle Joel for a short while as well! It was generally a time of rest for me as I had just had Oliver. I didn't decorate as I normally would have and I definitely didn't cook as I might have for other years. It was restful and yet, I'm glad they have passed. I always find peace in the quiet of my home, simply doing our daily routines (now with two children) and loving the ebb and flow of each day together, just the three of us. (Four when papa is home) Here are some photos from our Christmas time this past year.
