Mi {Cora}zon 4 months

Miss Cora is now 4 months old and is a happy happy girl! She is becoming more curious with people and places and still stops traffic wherever she goes. She is rolling to her side and *almost* to her tummy. She loves her bumbo seat and is now a pro at grasping things and pulling them into her mouth.

She still loves bath time and being outside. We sit out in the backyard in the morning to watch the cardinals and finches that come to the feeders. And the mama robin is still around every now and again too. This morning, Cora sat with Nana as mama made a loaf of bread. I hid behind the counter and popped up to play with Cora and she giggled and giggled every time. Her smile and giggles are intoxicating to her mama and papa.

Happy 4 months Cora!

Settling in

Well, it has been a little over a month since we have moved into our new home in the city and the verdict is: we LOVE it. We love raising Cora near people who are different than her. As she grows older we hope that she will treasure Christ more than safety and materialism. We love our neighborhood and neighbors (despite the noise, hopefully we will get used to that) and we love our city.

We spent the fourth of July with good friends down in Soulard to watch the firework show.

and we celebrated Jonathans birthday this month with good food and best friends.

We drove to lavender farms to spend an afternoon picking bunches of lavender and basking in its glorious fragrance. The bees were a bit intense but it was well worth it.

Cora is growing and growing and is now a pro with grasping things and holding onto toys. she examines the squishy block, shoves it in her mouth, then throws it. She is so aware of her surroundings and faces and has the deepest giggle a little girl can have. She babbles and squeals and is learning to explore her voice and sounds more and more each day.

and of course, i still love being a mama. The Lord gives me patience when its needed and tenderness always. When I'm away from Cora I can close my eyes and see her warm smile and dimples, her shining, bright blue eyes and long lashes. I can feel her soft cheeks on my skin, her morning nuzzles, and I smile with incredible happiness. I know there will never be a day where she doesn't bring me joy.

Praise be to God!
