Jonathan's bike

With graduation $$ from friends and family, Jonathan asked one of our good friends to build him a bike. He finished it and brought it to the party! It's amazing!!

It's a vintage frame made in France

these are hand cut!

We are so excited and are now saving for our friend to make ME a bike too. Jonathan is working as a counselor at Karis House 2 miles from our house. So he can now ride to work every day among other places. We are definitely excited to be saving some money on gas.

 Thank you Erick!!!

I surprised Jonathan with this cake...

Before the icing

Sabrina did the feathers.

The finished Wise ol' Owl cake for graduation! (and it could be hedwig ;)

He loved it!!!!!!!!!

we prepared a vegan meal: black bean and corn goodness over brown rice, topped with avocado and cilantro,  sauteed collard greens and swiss chard, with braised red cabbage. yummmmm.....

Sabrina and Brandon meet our godson!!

*Luckily* we had something other than beer and water to drink for the chitlens. (Fitz rootbeer!) Btw the two boys (Justice and Izzy) in the front are betrothed to my little sisters Emma and Sophia. Hands off 11-14 year old girls!

Happy Graduation Jonathan! We love you!

Cardinals Game

Walking to the cardinals vs. phillies game friday night.

At the top of busch stadium

91 degrees. Whoo!

It cooled down to a lovely 85 degrees by the end of the game. It was fun! but we lost. boo.

Juice & a tattoo

Sisters reunited!!!

Check out OR Smoothies the next time you visit St. Louis. It's amazing...

And then head to trader bob's for a tat, why not?

Sabrina, Amber, and I got Jonathan a tattoo that he has been wanting for his graduation gift. Joe was his artist and we highly recommend.

In the works

where it comes from. Check out the chapter "the dementor's kiss" in HP's Prisoner of Azkaban (book III)

The finished piece. Brief meaning: Harry casts the "expecto patronum"charm to repel the evil dementors. A stag (a literary symbol for Christ) comes out to cast away evil. In latin the charm means "I long for my deliverer"

Graduation weekend

While Jonathan's parents were in town, we took a trip to Blueberry Hill (of course :)

(Nice tee shirt Joe!!)

And Maureen and I did this Compton Heights House Tour!! It was amazing and I have a bazillion pictures of the old homes but here are a few of the outside. The neighborhood is super close to where we live and we loved getting to see all of these old homes. It was so fun!

We had our beloved Gary and Jennie over for supper that weekend. They couldn't make his graduation (sad face) so he reenacted the scene for them.

More house tour the next day, this was the Magic Chef Mansion with a working 1930's kitchen, 30 rooms, and a bowling alley. Crazy.

Thank you for coming to St. Louis to visit us Joe and Maureen! We love you!!!

Graduation!!

Happy Graduation to Jonathan! He has finished his Masters of Counseling at Covenant Theological Seminary

Jonathan's parents came to town to celebrate with us a couple weeks ago. (I've been late to post mainly because of all our visitors)

The baccalaureate was very nice and we all had such a nice time!
