1938 kitchen addition

So my friend found me this amazing kitchen island while she was out "sailing" (estate sale-ing of course) We've been looking for one and it's absolutely perfect.

The photo doesn't show it but on the left hand side there is one cute little drawer. the legs are a lovely teal (photo: once again doesn't do it justice) The top is "porceliron"  and it's from 1938!! It's in fabulous shape and we *love* it

My mum and my grandfather

I stumbled upon this photograph of my mom and my grandfather Eulogio (Eloy for short) I just thought it was so precious! My grandfather lives in Los Osos Calif. and my mother of course lives in Salt Lake City, so its lovely to see a moment where ZERO miles separate them :)

Easter (sugar cookie) eggs

Saturday afternoon we visit with our good friends upstairs and decorate sugar cookies for Easter. It was a lot of fun because Jennie and I couldn't stop laughing at the cookies my dear Jonathan made. (We were laughing with him of course).

You see that one bunny top left with the psychedelic radiating lines? That's Jonathan's. And the two eggs bottom left, one with frosting spots and the other with a strange egg yolk looking form? those are Jonathan's too. So great!

Jennie just loved these. I drew these because how often do you get to draw on cookies?! The one in the middle is from an old photo of Gary and Jennie (and Wolfie their dog) They were all so yummy too!

Happy Easter! He is Risen!!

Botanical Garden

we admired our local botanical garden Easter weekend with some friends (it's free for residents saturday mornings, yay!) The garden is just a few blocks away and yet we never venture to see it more!

A posing butterfly!

i *love* hostas.

The entire garden is absolutely breathtaking. & it was just enough inspiration to finally get us out to our own vegetable/herb garden. I planted/started seeds today, and coming this harvest will be carrots, onion, all kinds of peppers, jalapenos, cucs, turnips, fennel, and of course tomatoes. Along with basil, lemon thyme and catnip for Elliott.

Happy gardening!
