Summer 2013

I haven't post in a while because life has been busy and i've been ... lazy i guess. but here i am, ready to continue documenting our lives here in St. Louis.

So much has happened this summer. of course we've purchased a home in the Old North St. Louis neighborhood and have been settled in for over 3 months now. We've had many visitors/family to stay with us which has been wonderful. living in this incredible and ginormous space has been so much fun. Every room has so much potential to be a decorating adventure, it makes me giddy. I have been reluctant to start hanging photos or artwork in their permanent places because the walls need painting with cheerful COLOR. We have only painted 2 rooms and we have 15 rooms in the house (including two long hallways and two bathrooms), phew, so thats a job. One room at a time. BUT once rooms are transformed with a fresh coat of paint, the official decorating madness begins.

One significant change this summer has been the transition from working full time to now a stay-at-home mama. (yipee!!) This has been WONDERFUL. Cora and I are on such similar wavelengths that hours pass and I hardly know where they've gone. Her needs blend into our flexible schedule together and we just simply enjoy being. We go to the local coffee house from time to time, we go to the park and walk through the trees, we sit at home and read books, (sometimes "reads" means crumpling my new Martha Stewart Living magazine) we run errands (thrifting is an errand right??) We cook meals for dinner parties and we go to Bible study (Cora goes to nursery of course). and we give lots of kisses to each other and to papa when he is home.

I recently threw a friend in our prayer group a baby shower. Its been so lovely to see more mama's spring up in our fellowship. some babies I keep waiting for but I know I'll meet them one day. This particular baby I know will be a joy and we are all eager to meet her in december.

It has been a joyful summer. We are so grateful to the Lord for his provision and care for our family. His mercies are indeed new every morning. and of course we are very much looking forward to cooler weather and the many glorious aspects of Autumn. (one being pumpkin anything) *sigh*

Thanks for reading!
