So I haven't officially mentioned on our blog yet, but we are pregnant!! Hooray!
I've neglected to update the blog mainly because I felt so rotten the first 3 months. I would come home from work and curl up in a ball until I had to go to work again. It was horrible. I was constantly nauseous, worse at night.
Here is how the first 3 months were when it came to my eating habits. Well I *was* a vegetarian prior to getting pregnant. Key word here is WAS. Now I know my sister and maybe other people are judgmental about this but let me tell you, your WHOLE body changes when you have a little guy growing inside you. Its such a crazy roller coaster of hormone changes and taste bud changes, its scary. So that said...
Basically, all I craved was meat. And not good quality home-cooked meat. All the sodium and MSG filled meat, yes like from the drive thru. So to reveal my shame, most days consist of me driving home from work, and thinking about dinner, then Wendy's would pop in my head and like a dog on a hot summer day, I began to salivate like I've never salivate before. Once it was in my head, there was NO stopping me. So, I snuck into the nearest Wendy's, checked over my shoulder to make sure no one I knew saw me. I walked in and thankfully the place was pretty empty. So I ordered two hamburgers and fries. He asked me "to stay or to go". Oh geez, I hadn't thought that far yet! I knew I didn't want my neighbors to see me walk in the house with a Wendy's bag and I didn't want Jonathan to see the wrappers in the trash so I said "To stay please." I then found a cozy corner in the restaurant and consumed those two hamburgers with the greatest delight.
Other craving those first 3 months: Jimmy Johns BLT's, Arby's Roast beef and Cheddar, Whole Foods rotisserie chickens, Taco Bell like its no ones business! ham and ribs. I drove past a McDonalds on my way home one day and swerved into the drive thru and kindly asked for a McRib. the lady over the intercom, said "uh, we don't have those ma'am..." I felt stupid and very disappointed and then drove off. Sad. I did find some ribs later to eat.
Oh and all the veggies I ate taste like dirt! I asked Jonathan if he thought they were spoiled or went bad, and they taste totally normal to him! It was so strange.

PS: Don't mind the scary pictures. Jonathan is working on his photography skills and I don't really care I guess :) you get the point, right?

I feel like I am WAY bigger than what I should be, but then again, I've never done this before. I don't know what to expect! Maybe there are two in there and they just missed it? Or maybe its not baby but all the pounds of meat I've consumed in the beginning. Or maybe I'm just growing a mammoth of a baby. Yikes.
Well there you have it, weird meat craving are officially over, (thank goodness) and I'm back to eating normal people food, food that has actually seen soil at one point or another.
Also, I've been anxious to feel the baby move inside of me and last night, we were at a new members meeting at church (yes we've been going to Grace & Peace for 3 years and are just now becoming members, lame I know) and during prayer I think I felt the baby kick/move for the first time!! It definitely was NOT me, like my stomach growling or intestines rumbling. It was a very distinct tiny kick, twice! Yay!
And so we venture on! Thanks for reading!
